Frequently Asked Questions

Training Program

Why train together for Gomera Paradise instead of coming only for the race weekend?

Training together for several weeks allows you to fully adapt to La Gomera’s terrain, climate and elevation; something that’s impossible to achieve in just a few days. You’ll run the actual trails, learn tips and insights from experienced local runners, and train consistently with our running coaches to arrive fully prepared on race day.

Most importantly, this experience is designed so you can keep working remotely Monday to Friday, without needing to take extra vacation days to travel just for the race. Training becomes part of your routine, turning preparation into a sustainable and focused process rather than a rushed trip.

How is this different from regular Cactus Coliving?

This edition has structure, coaching, a shared goal and race preparation.

Can I stay only a few days?

No. This is a full 5-week experience.

Work

Can I work during the week?

Yes. This camp is designed for remote workers.

How strong is the Wi-Fi? Can I really get my work done?

Yes. We have 300 MB optical fiber Wi-Fi in La Gomera, with extenders throughout the entire house to ensure stable coverage in both rooms and common areas. The setup is designed for remote work, video calls and daily productivity.

Can I rent a large screen for working?

Yes. Large screens are available upon request. Just let us know when you fill in the application form so we can reserve one for you.

Location

How far is the house from the beach?

5 minutes walking.

Can I bring my partner or a friend?

Yes, depending on room availability.

How does food work during the stay?

Each coliver has their own shelf for food storage, and the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped so everyone can cook comfortably. We also organize weekly family dinners.

What’s the weather like in August–September?

Warm, dry and stable with an average of 25 degrees. Ideal for trail running with early sessions and recovery breaks.

Are there supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants nearby?

Yes. The house is located in the city center of San Sebastián de La Gomera, with supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés and restaurants less than 5 minutes walking away.

Community

Group size?

Max. 15 people living in the house.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely, most people do.

I don’t speak Spanish — is that a problem?

Not at all. We are an international community, and English is the main language spoken in the house. Many locals in the village also speak basic English, so communication won’t be an issue.

Can I organize an activity for the community?

Absolutely. We encourage colivers to share their skills, ideas and passions. Whether it’s a workshop, a run, a dinner or a creative activity, you’re more than welcome to organize something for the group.
